A fully completed and accurate proposal form is required to underwrite any equine insurance policy.

Veterinary Certificate of Health
Required for horses valued above R100,000, or when specifically requested by the insurer.

Positive Identification
Horses must be positively identified via a passport description or microchip identification.

Vaccination Records
Up-to-date passport records confirming current vaccinations for African Horse Sickness, Equine Influenza and Tetanus.
Ongoing Policy
Requirements
Horses must receive proper care and attention at all times whilst insured.
Ill or injured horses must receive appropriate veterinary treatment without delay.
African Horse Sickness vaccinations must be current at all times.
Equine Influenza vaccinations must be current at all times.
Tetanus vaccinations must be current at all times.
Vaccination batch and lot numbers may be required during claims assessment.
A post-mortem examination is required in the event of the death of an insured horse.
